Services Provided
Experience play provides a variety of services to help children with special needs reach their full potential.
PLAY Project Intervention
The PLAY Project is an evidence-based early intervention program for children with Autism and developmental delays. It is provided in-home and requires parent involvement for best results. The model follows a set of principles and techniques that improve autism symptoms and increase development. These principals and techniques help children improve language skills, development, behavior and social skills. The main goal is to help create meaningful bonds between the child and their family while increasing child development, social skills and language skills.
Teaching PLAY Intervention
Teaching Play is an additional PLAY Project service that helps train teachers on the principals and techniques used in the intervention to help create more meaningful relationships with their students with ALL their students and most importantly their students with Autism. It is implemented in school and helps children increase their social, language and academic skills through development appropriate techniques. Teaching PLAY is a great addition for children already participating in the PLAY Project intervention as they enter school.
Academic Tutoring
Experience Play provides specialized in home academic tutoring for children age 5 through age 10 with a Masters level Florida Certified teacher. Each tutoring session is designed to meet the specific needs of the child and provides additional presentation of the academic content through a multi-sensory approach.
Special Education Consulting
The world of Special Education can be overwhelming and complicated to many families. Experience Play offers consulting for families to better understand and navigate services available, IEP process guidance and simple conversations about where to start navigating this complex world.
Family Outings and Events
For many families with children with special needs participating in community events can be challenging and families are less likely to take their children to community events. Experience Play offers and connects families to a range of community outings that are Autism friendly and have supports available for children with special needs and their parents to be able to participate in these events. It is important that all children have as many experiences as possible to help them learn and grow but it can be overwhelming to both children and parents to participate in different experiences so Experience Play wants to help provide these opportunities with necessary supports to children and their families to have the best experiences possible.
