The PLAY Project Mission
To support families in having a joyous and playful relationship with their children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, so each child can reach his or her full potential.

What is The PLAY Project
The PLAY Project is an evidence-based early intervention program for children with Autism and developmental delays. It is provided in-home and requires parent involvement for best results. The model follows a set of principles and techniques that improve autism symptoms and increase development. These principals and techniques help children improve language skills, development, behavior and social skills. The main goal is to help create meaningful bonds between the child and their family while increasing child development, social skills and language skills.
Benefits to Children
Play is the best way for young children to learn and grow. The PLAY Project helps children and families interactions in playful and meaningful ways through specific techniques and activities designed to target each Childs individual developmental level. The model helps children improve their language, behavior and social skills as well as the severity of Autism symptoms through natural and playful interactions.
Key Elements of the PLAY Intervention
During each play session the PLAY consultant will interact directly with the child and the parents to provide specific modeling and coaching to help guide parents in implementing the techniques with their child to help develop meaningful relationships. Each month the PLAY consultant will take video footage of the PLAY session and creates a detailed PLAY Plan. This plan will include written feedback about techniques being used during the session and recommendations for methods, techniques and activities to be used in future play sessions.
